Our Story
From 1985
At Christian Lagerwaard, we envision a world where luxury is not just about the garments you wear, but a profound expression of individuality and timeless beauty. We are a beacon of bespoke, made-to-measure, couture, and non-fashion design projects, seeking to redefine the very essence of luxury in a world that clamors for instant gratification.
Lagerwaard's exceptional talent was recognized at the young age of 20 when he clinched the prestigious "Prix Guy Laroche" during the "Concours de Couture," a platform for emerging design talents in the Netherlands in 1985. This achievement led to a personal invitation from Guy Laroche himself, introducing Lagerwaard to the world of high fashion. Furthering his experience, Christian Lagerwaard joined Emanuel Ungaro in Paris in 1992, where he delved into the secrets of high fashion design and craftsmanship.
“There’s value in creating something beautiful with your own hands. Here we still cherish craftsmanship.”
Philosophy
In a world saturated with ephemeral trends and disposable fashion, Christian Lagerwaard stands as a manifestation of the enduring power of craftsmanship. Our vision is to encapsulate the essence of sartorial artistry, elevating each piece to an emblem of timeless elegance. We craft our designs with a devotion to detail, handwork, employing the most luxurious fabrics, and showcasing unparalleled craftsmanship, getting each piece ready to be cherished for generations.
